Michelle began her small, non-profit horse rescue in 2007 after she took in Zoe, a starved and abused horse found in Sanford, FL from the local animal shelter. When she saw Zoe go from literally being on deaths’ doorstep to a vibrant, beautiful soul, she was compelled to help at least one horse at a time by bringing them to her farm, healing, reconnecting, and training them with the intention of providing a happy home and bright future for that horse. She has maintained her ambition through the donations of many generous people all over the US and continues to work with her horses and other animals who need healing, reconnection, and a home. Along with that, she has begun doing equine experiential therapy for individuals and groups with the very horses she has rescued. Currently, she is also moving towards helping veterans with PTSD to receive equine facilitated therapy through licensed counselors at her farm.
